Affiliate marketing sounds more technical than it is. In plain words:

If someone buys through your link, you get paid. The buyer pays not a penny more than usual. Your commission does not come out of their pocket, it comes out of our share.

How does Digistore know the customer came from you? When someone clicks your link, a small marker called a cookie is stored in their browser. If they buy within 180 days the sale counts for you, even if they come back weeks later. All that matters is that they arrived through your link.

How the figure is worked out: Digistore24 pays commission on the Basic Amount, not on the sale price. That is the gross price less VAT and less the Digistore24 margin of 7.9% plus 1 €. The amounts above are examples for a German buyer at 19% VAT. A buyer in another country means a different tax rate, and so a different commission. We also hand out voucher codes from time to time: if your customer redeems one, your commission is calculated on the price actually paid and comes out lower.
